For help with downloading and installing, click here How To Use On the screen you will see a set of piano like keys which when clicked with the mouse or particular letters on the keyboard are pressed, you will hear a musical note. How the musical note will sound, depends on the instrument you choose. On the right of the screen is a drop down list of instruments you can choose from. To the left of this list is a drop down menu of saved songs that have previously been recorded. To hear one of these songs, select it and then click the green arrow play button. This button is set in a row of recognisable standard buttons you might find on a video or DVD player i.e. play, stop, record etc. Each button is explained if you place your mouse pointer over it. To remove a song from the drop down list, simply choose it in the list and click the Delete button to the right of the selection box. By clicking the KEYS button in the bottom left of the screen you can alternate between the actual musical note letters shown on the keys and the corresponding keyboard letter keys on your computer. Record A New Song To record a song click the red Record button. A red arrow will appear above the music staff (the horizontal lines that musical notes are written on). When you click a key with the mouse or press a key on the keyboard, the relevant note will appear on the staff. When you have finished your song, click the blue floppy disk button to Save it. A box will appear where you can type a name for your song. Once you click OK then the song will be saved. It will appear in the drop down list the next time you run the program or click on the New button. You will find that you can edit the position of your song's musical notes by clicking and dragging them with your mouse horizontally along the staff. If you want to make a longer song you can add the continue marker to the end of the staff or after your last note by clicking the Continue button in the bottom right of the screen. Then when you make a new staff of music for your song, save it under the same name but add something to the name like Part 2, Part 3 etc., so that it appears alphabetically one after the other in the drop down list of saved songs. This way when you play the first part of you song, every time the play function finds a continue marker, it will automatically jump to and play the next song in the list. Increase or decrease the speed of your song by using the blue arrow buttons. The speed at which your song is played is shown between the arrows. You can also print your song by clicking the Print button on the right of the button bar.
