Work Selection And Main Text Box
At the top of the screen is a drop down list of the Works. Here you can select one and it will be displayed in the text box below it. Right mouse click on the text box to reveal a small menu. Here you can copy any selected text, print out the complete work or just a selection and if you wish you can highlight in red, words that appear in the glossary. Only one instance of the word will be selected, however, if it appears more than once in the text.
Glossary Text Area
Just below the main text area is a smaller one where individual glossary items are displayed. To look up a word in the glossary either highlight the word in the main text or double click it. If the word is in the glossary, the definition will appear in white text in this smaller box. If the word does not exist in the glossary, the text will indicate this. Short phrases may also exist in the glossary, so more than one word can sometimes be highlighted in the main text. Once again you can print and copy in this section by right mouse clicking and selecting from the pop up menu. Please note, some definitions may not fit the context of the particular text and with some words we recognise, only their alternative is shown. Please also note with the glossary, that whilst I have taken every care to make sure it is accurate, I cannot accept any responsibility if any of the definitions are found to be incorrect. Some of the glossary items were found in the public domain on the web and no notice of the author could be found. Many of the entries however, I have personally, painstakingly, researched myself. So my apologies for any inaccuracies.
Search Area
To make a search of the text in the main text box or of all the plays, type your word or phrase into the green search text box below the glossary text area. Click on either the Search In This File or Search All Files button. If Search In This File is clicked any result will be found and highlighted in the main text area above. Click the Next button to find if the text appears again in this file. If you choose Search All Files then a list of the files in which the text appears will be shown in the box at the bottom of the screen, the first one will be loaded automatically and the searched text highlighted. Click on other files in the list and they too will be loaded and the text highlighted.
Full Glossary
The full glossary can be accessed by clicking the red book at the bottom right of the screen. This will produce a new window listing all the glossary entries. These can be searched by entering a word or phrase in the box and clicking the Find In Glossary button. Click the Next button to search for the same word/s again. There is also a facility to add new entries to your glossary. Enter the new word or phrase in the New Entry box, then the Definition and click the Add button
